be a little cooler. 50 in downtown 49 and san jose, 47 in livermore, 51 air richmond, 49 and napa. a 47 in concord and oakland you should talk about at the door 50s. a bright and sunny day with temperatures definitely on the cooler side. if your kron 47 day around the bay forecast, temperatures will be milder friday on friday, the rain will come through any of fast-moving system starting in the north bay and then heading south. we also see a mix of some snow and some rain especially coming late friday into early saturday morning for some of the hill locations. the best chance would be towards the fixer and those locations up towards the coast. the fast- moving system will return to sunshine and dry conditions by saturday afternoon and sunday and then we will finally be milder come tuesday in to next wednesday and again, this morning, much colder than yesterday to you definitely want to start the car early in defrost off your windshield. the time now is 403 let's go to james. warming shelters have been set up in the south bay because of the unseasonal cold weather. three shelters in san

rosa and napa, freezing in san rafael. it goes on and on. lots of 30s. 35 in half moon bay. 40 is in downtown san francisco checking in at 41 degrees. we'll be getting really close to some record low temperatures. here are our forecasted temperatures for wednesday and the current records. you will see approaching that record for tomorrow morning. livermore, the record is safe there, same no napa. richmond could tie it and oakland could break the previous records. thursday temperatures will drop more in the morning. tomorrow, afternoon highs, 40s and low 50s. this is usually where we see our morning lows. i think coats are in order and the hats, and temperatures will be cold here and in the sierra. the snow tapered off this evening. by tomorrow morning the temperatures will be in the single digits in the sierra and negative for thursday morning. friday, it will warm as another storm approaches, another cold arctic system, so the next couple of days is cold. friday, a little bit of cloud cover will warm things up. rain friday, drying out for the weekend, and then another round of

this morning. let's look at some of the worst chill that we did have. that was here in napa with just a wind five to ten miles per hour and made temperatures feel like 24 degrees this morning. definitely some of the coldest weather we have been mentioning in nine months. let's take you outside right now and unbelievable. what we're dealing with for these averages in the north bay. right now 38 degrees and san francisco 49 and also the peninsula at 47. let's take you into san francisco and we'll be near record-setting lows and 37 degrees expected with clear skies and by 1:00 p.m. and temperatures at 51 degrees. get some warming in there but jacket weather, again, for tomorrow. you'll also see here across the peninsula, a colder start for you, as well. temperatures near 30 degrees across palo alto. so, hopefully, you've got some sort of great deal on a jacket on black friday because you're going to need it. freeze warning the next 24 hours. we have now extended this here to the east bay and also for the south bay so this means for you temperatures will also range 25 to 36 degrees as we continu

and getting colder. let's review the day first because we didn't really warm up much today, did we? in napa you had a high of 53. san jose 52. livermore and concord barely above 50 degrees for no more than 30 or 45 minutes. setting the stage for tonight, tonight will be a widespread freeze. the entire bay area with only the city of san francisco the exception. we are talking lows in the mid- 20s to the low 30s bringing the pets inside protect the plants if you can. these are some of the lows tonight. napa down to 25. redwood city 30. san jose you're going to hit 29. and livermore tonight 25 very cold degrees. some of you are saying, i don't like the cold. that's why i live in the bay area. i'll answer when the cold is going to end when we'll get back to normal in the full forecast in 10 minutes. >> thank you. >>> our own len ramirez is in gilroy tonight where farmers are bracing for the overnight freeze, as well. lenny. >> reporter: it already feels like we're in an icebox in gilroy and there are a lot of crops in the ground so it's going to be a long night for growers in this part of the b

degrees. napa up could break a 1 record and the same goes for those of you in richmond. in some cases in has not been this cold since 1942. can you believe that? >> we have the freeze watch in affect for most of the bay area but for the next couple of days. san francisco is not impacted by this freeze watch. here is a look at the afternoon high everyone will be in the same bolt. upper 40's or low 50's. mountain view will have a high of upper 50s. we could see 40's for places like pittsburg. 51 degrees for vallejo. it will be a sunny day it will look pretty but it will still be cold outside. 349 degrees will be your high for those of you in daly city. we will continue with frosty conditions until thursday morning and will be sunny for the next couple of days but by friday we will turn the corner and have the possibility for rain. we are tracking it yet a another cold front that could bring showers. snow levels will drop to a thousand and that is a good nose for people who ski. a again this will be a what friday. we will still be hanging on to cool conditions for the next work week. >>

in san francisco. 51 out in the north bay, where we had 19 degrees earlier this morning in napa. broke a record here in the south bay when we bottomed out at 25 degrees. so let's get right to it. another night of widespread frost. the temperatures are going to creep up a touch this evening. but overall, it's still going to be cold enough for that widespread frost tomorrow morning. make sure you keep an eye on your pets and dress in layers. then high pressure really starts to take control as we head through the next few days. this is going to do two things. it's going to bring about a gradual warming trend. it sets up shop over the bay area. we're going to see this stagnant air mass. as a result, that thick layer of smoke gets kind of capped right over the bay area. as we head throughout the next couple days, we'll likely be sparing the air as a result. not a lot of wind and no rain to clear this out. our next chance for rain doesn't even come until we hit friday into saturday. and it's not looking very good right now. about 10% shot up in the north bay. otherwise, a gradual warming tre

of the chilliest weather is in napa. we are certainly going to rival all of that as we head to tomorrow morning. even a few spots colder. like the eastbound. and also for the southbound. they have now been added into the freeze warning. primarily as we head throughout tomorrow morning. temperatures ranging 25 to 36 degrees. the only spot that is not included in that is san francisco. you can see it's not shaded. also in this, of course, san jose all the way down to morgan hill and also gilroy where temperatures could range between 25 to 36 degrees. we're averaging temperatures to the upper 30s and low 40s across the northbound. san francisco, the eastbound with 41. let's take you across the south bay. across the soub 7:00 a.m., 31 degrees. 3:00 p.m., just expecting 50. it will be sunny. more on that coming up."sw let's take you to the overall pattern. this is different than just plain old cool air coming across the bay. we pull down all of this cooler air from canada to alaska. for at least the next two days. chilly mornings with us. we're going to see numbers replicated for at least the next t

freezing in napa. 39 degrees currently in oakland. we just have a couple of degrees above freezing. if you think today is cold but until tomorrow. the temperatures will drop into the low 20s. i will not be surprised if we break some records. it has not been at this code in quite some time. everyone is at risk to drop below freezing. the protected valleys could see readings at 22 to 23 degrees. san francisco will remain in the 40's. the national weather service may extend the freeze warning. that is something that we will continue to monitor. upper 40's for--plenty of sunshine in concord pripet 50 degrees for san mattel and hayward. >> we will continue with a frosted freezing conditions for tomorrow and may be cooler. cold mornings are on tap for the rest of the week. the likelihood for showers for friday into saturday pripet we do have snow slated for the sierra nevada. the snow levels will drop. we may see several inches of snow. this is certainly good nils for people who ski. we will be dry as we head into sunday. cold mornings here in the bay but the afternoon high will be back into the
